A five-note scale with a universal, organic sound. Commonly found in traditional folk music worldwide, including Chinese, Celtic, and African melodies.
The Major Pentatonic scale omits the 4th (F) and 7th (B) degrees of the major scale. Because it has no semitones, it sounds pleasant no matter what order the notes are played in, making it a wonderful tool for improvisation and creative melody writing.
Follows the 5-note pattern of intervals: Root, Major 2nd, Major 3rd, Perfect 5th, Major 6th.
